Citrix Workspace app will automatically replace many previous versions of Citrix Receiver and the Citrix online plug-ins; However, some versions must be removed manually before you can install Citrix Workspace app. The Citrix Workspace app installer downloads the.NET Framework Version 4.6.2 installation package from Microsoft and then installs it. This process might take several minutes. The following error message appears when you launch the Citrix Workspace app installer. This dialog appears during network issues. Citrix Workspace app performs a check to verify whether there is enough available disk space to complete the installation. The verification is performed both during a fresh installation and an upgrade. During a fresh installation, the installation stops when there is insufficient disk space and the following dialog appears.
Install the .msi files for Receiver
Use the following command line parameter:
Note: Double click installation for Receiver using individual .msi is not recommended for 4.4.x and 4.5Install the Components:
When installing the Receiver.exe components, run the .msi files in the following order:
- RIInstaller.msi
- ICAWebWrapper.msi
- GenericUSB.msi
- DesktopViewer.msi
- CitrixHDXMediaStreamForFlash-ClientInstall.msi
- Vd3dClient.msi
- AuthManager.msi
- SSONWrapper.msi
- SelfServicePlugin.msi
- WebHelper.msi
During the execution of each of these msi packages, the following command line parameters need to specified:
REBOOT=ReallySuppress MSIDISABLERMRESTART=0 MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=0 NEED_RECEIVER=n TROLLEYINSTALL=1 ALLUSERS=1
The command to execute a msi package is as follows:
msiexec /i <path to the .msi package> REBOOT=ReallySuppress MSIDISABLERMRESTART=0 MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=0 NEED_RECEIVER=n TROLLEYINSTALL=1 ALLUSERS=1
For a non-admin user installation, the parameters are as follows:
REBOOT=ReallySuppress MSIDISABLERMRESTART=0 MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=0 NEED_RECEIVER=n TROLLEYINSTALL=1 ALLUSERS='
Note: GenericUSB and SSON are not supported for non-admin users, so no need to install GenericUSB.msi and SSONWrapper.msi for non-admin user installation.
Remove the Components:
When removing the components, remove them in the following order:

Each .msi file has an Add/Remove (Control Panel on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003) or Programs and Features (Control Panel on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008) entry in the following format:

We are currently working on a new deployment of Citrix Workspace App 1911. To do this, we run a script below:
This gets the Workspace Application up on Windows 10 laptops and desktops (living dangerously on 1909) and running with our Citrix Desktop without any input from the user, other than logging in.
It also restricts the users from modifying accounts, which is great, because you cant trust users :D
We used a similar script to install/deploy Citrix Receiver before upgrading to Citrix Workspace App.
many users using a laptop or desktop have multiple monitors, and would like to use all available monitors with Citrix.
The caveat to installing the WorkSpaceApp and Receiver with the above script is that it does not allow the Desktop Viewer toolbar to be visible, even though it is clearly in the 'ADDLOCAL' variable to add it and what I have discovered through testing and forums, is that this toolbar is required for support of multiple monitors.
If I install the Workspace Application without using a script, and go through the normal process of setup, i get a completely different set up and the Desktop Viewer toolbar, but it also isn't locked down and users can modify accounts.
To show the differences between the installs, i have attached 2 files.
ScriptInstall is the Workspace App we are used to. when launching our added Desktop from there, everything is fine, but no Desktop Viewer toolbar.
ManualInstall, when we manually go through the steps on setting up the WorkSpace App on a desktop/laptop, gets a different screen(the Citrix Storefront) but the Desktop Viewer will appear when launched this way.
I sent the same information to our Citrix team, but they have not been super helpful.
Is there a way to script either one of these outcomes? AS long as they both have the Desktop Viewer toolbar?
